Refund Policy

A legal disclaimer

All items sold by Payback are vintage, pre-owned, and/or secondhand goods. Items are sold “as is” with all faults and imperfections. We make every effort to accurately describe, measure, and photograph each item, including noting any significant flaws such as stains, holes, alterations, or wear. Minor imperfections consistent with the item’s age are to be expected and do not qualify as defects.

Payback makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the condition, fit, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose of any item. Colors may vary slightly due to monitor settings and lighting. Sizing is based on garment measurements when modern size tags are not present. Buyer is responsible for reviewing all details before purchase. Images of products are enhanced using AI to implement the background and natural look of the item. These enhancements and changes are minimal, often the garment tag is removed or replaced in the picture, however Payback Thrift will not be held liable for the item not appearing exactly as pictured in AI enhanced photographs. We do our best to also provide an unedited and unaltered picture of each garment as well.

Refund Policy - the basics

Refunds are only issued in the event of a shipping error caused by The Payback Thirft.

A shipping error is defined as:
• You received the wrong item due to our fulfillment mistake

• Your order was damaged in transit and we failed to package it to our stated standard

• Your order was lost because we shipped to an incorrect address due to our error 


Refunds are not issued for:
• Items damaged by the carrier if packaged properly

• Lost packages shipped to the address provided at checkout

• Delivery delays or issues caused by the shipping carrier

• Items that do not fit or meet expectations

• Undisclosed minor flaws consistent with vintage age 


If you believe a shipping error occurred, you must contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number, photos of what you received, and a description of the issue. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5-10 business days. We reserve the right to require return of the incorrect item at our expense before issuing a refund. No exceptions will be made outside of this policy. By placing an order, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.

Return and Exchange Policy

All sales are final. Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of vintage merchandise, Payback Thrift does not accept returns for any reason, including but not limited to: change of mind, incorrect sizing, “doesn’t fit,” “not as expected,” or “found it cheaper elsewhere.”

We do not offer exchanges. Because our inventory consists of unique vintage pieces, we cannot guarantee replacement items in the same size, color, or style. All sales are final and cannot be exchanged for store credit or other merchandise.
